How to spend smart on stationery
Two principles cut most office supply bills without dropping quality. First, buy by the box rather than the each — a box of 50 ballpoints typically costs 30–50% less per pen than buying singles, and pens don't expire. Same applies to staples, markers, tape and post-its. Second, spend up on the things people use daily and save on what gets used occasionally. A cheap stapler that jams every third use is genuinely worse than a $20 one that lasts ten years; a cheap paper clip is fine.
Brand matters less than people think for some categories (paper clips, rubber bands, plain notebooks) and more than people think for others. Markers and highlighters from quality brands like Stabilo, Sharpie and Pilot last 5–10× longer than the cheapest options. Files from Marbig and Esselte hold up to daily opening; cheap binders crack at the spine and the rings come misaligned. Pens: Bic, Pilot and Uni-ball write reliably for years; the cheapest house-brand ballpoints skip and dry out in a drawer.
For NZ schools, offices and home workers
School orders typically ship as one consolidated delivery to the main office and we can split-ship across campuses on request. For start-of-year stationery rolls, we work with school office managers to get bulk lists priced and delivered before term one — get in touch a few weeks ahead and we'll quote and reserve stock. For home offices and one-person businesses, we ship the same small orders just as fast as the bulk ones — there's no minimum and no surcharge for ordering "just a couple of things". Whatever the size, it goes out the door the same day.
