At Discount Office, we fully comply with New Zealand’s Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986. These laws ensure you receive goods that meet high standards of quality and accuracy.
Key Guarantees
- Acceptable Quality: Goods are fit for normal use, free from defects and durable.
- Fit for Purpose: Products meet any specific requirements you communicate to us.
- Match Description: Items correspond with descriptions, images and samples provided.
- Correct Title: You gain full ownership of the goods you purchase upon payment.
When Things Go Wrong
If we supply the wrong item or a faulty product, you can return it under the Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act. Incorrect items will be collected and replaced by us at no cost. For faulty products, you must inform us of any defects within a reasonable amount of time. We request that you inspect the goods before you sign off on the delivery.
For all returns including for faulty products, we need to authorise your return. This ensures we have a record of the issue and we are ready to receive your item at the correct location. Please refer to information sent to you on authorisation and send the item in its original packaging where available to the address we provide. We will repair or replace the product, or issue a full refund if repair or replacement is not possible.
Discretionary Returns
While the Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act provide the core of our returns policy, we may also accept returns beyond these statutory rights at our discretion. Where not covered by either of the acts or warranty, we may ask you to bear any delivery costs. In some cases a restocking fee may apply. These apply to discretionary returns only.
How to Make a Claim
To make a return or claim your Consumer Guarantees Act rights, email support@discountoffice.co.nz with your order number and a brief description of the issue. We’ll reply with a return authorisation and instructions.
Your satisfaction is important to us. If you have any questions about your rights or our policies, please get in touch.
