Cabinets cover most of the office storage range, so the quickest way to choose is by form. A credenza is low and doubles as a worktop behind a desk. A cupboard is tall, with hinged doors and adjustable shelves. A mobile cabinet rolls under a desk on castors with drawers. A tambour uses sliding roller shutters that need no swing clearance. Most come in melamine woodgrain finishes or powder-coated steel, and the storage units are lockable.

A credenza is low, about desk height, so it doubles as a worktop and suits the space behind a desk. A cupboard is tall, 900mm or 1800mm, with hinged doors and adjustable shelves for a full wall of storage. Choose the credenza for a surface plus storage, and the cupboard when you need more capacity.

A tambour uses sliding roller-shutter doors that retract into the body instead of hinged doors. Because nothing swings out, it needs no clearance in front, which makes it the pick for tight walkways and busy floor plans. Many tambours also take roll-out suspension file racks inside.

Most of the storage cabinets and mobile units lock, including the cupboards, tambours and drawer cabinets. The steel storage cabinets use a keyed lock. Lockable storage keeps files, stationery and stock secure in shared spaces.

Doors that suit the space
