They are powder free to avoid contamination and they are thick - 5 mil so that they last and won't fall apart. They are detectable by readily available metal detectors in the electromagnetic range 50Khz to 1Mhz ensuring that a small torn piece will not contaminate or end up in final product in compliance with FDA21 CFR170-199. Detectability is only a 1.5mm sphere.
