Many are, with a steel backing behind the glass so magnets hold, but some are not. Check the product description, and if you rely on magnets choose a board specifically listed as magnetic glass.
They are highly resistant to both, which is their main advantage. The hard glass surface does not absorb ink, so erasing leaves no residue and even older marks wipe away cleanly with a standard whiteboard cleaner.
