A drafting stool (also called an architectural stool) is a tall, height-adjustable stool with a longer gas lift than a standard office chair, usually with a footring. It's made for working at a raised surface, like a workbench, lab counter, reception desk or standing desk, where a normal chair sits too low.

Yes, that's exactly what they're for. The Buro Revo Architectural and the Buro Polo both reach well above desk height and include a footring so your feet are supported when you perch. Check your bench height against the stool's seat-height range before ordering.

Castors let you roll between stations, ideal on hard floors in a lab or studio. Glides keep the stool planted, better on carpet or where you want it to stay put. The Buro Polo lets you pick either when you order.
