Petty cash to till float

Inch sizing has survived because it maps neatly to real jobs. Six inches locks up a petty cash float in a drawer. Eight and ten inch boxes are the fundraiser and market-stall workhorses — big enough for a busy morning's coins, small enough to carry in one hand. Twelve inches runs a proper float, with the lift-out coin tray on top and notes, dockets and the float sheet flat underneath. Esselte and Office Mate both lock with a key, and the tray lifts out whole so the counting happens at the table, not in the box.

Built to be posted into, not opened

The Larstons ballot and coin boxes flip the logic: clear or smoke acrylic so the contents show, a slot on top, a key lock so only the organiser opens it, and a sign holder built in — A4 and A5 landscape for raffle and suggestion boxes, A6 on the compact coin box.
