Canon names laser toner as a Cartridge number, often shown twice, so a Canon 325 is the same as CART325. Most desktop models use an all-in-one cartridge with the toner and drum built together, while big imageRUNNER copiers take TG and GPR toner. Canon often labels the same cartridge two ways, a short number and a CART code, so a Canon 325 is the same part as CART325. Either code finds the right toner for your printer.
On most desktop Canon lasers the toner and drum are built into one all-in-one cartridge, so a new cartridge refreshes both. A few models split them and take a separate drum, such as the CART029D, so check your model before ordering.
Canon marks its higher-yield version with two I's, for example CART046 II, which holds more toner and prints more pages than the plain CART046 for the same printer.
Big imageRUNNER office copiers use TG and GPR toner codes rather than CART numbers, in much larger sizes built for high page counts. Match the TG or GPR code to your machine.

Match the Cartridge number, then the yield

Canon labels laser toner as a Cartridge number, often printed twice so a Canon 325 is the same as CART325. Read the number off your old cartridge or the printer menu and match it. Most desktop Canon lasers use an all-in-one cartridge with the toner and drum built together, so a new cartridge refreshes both, though a few models split them and take a separate drum.

Many cartridges come standard or high-yield, with Canon marking the bigger one with two I's, such as CART046 II. A mono printer takes a single black; a colour one takes four you change as each runs down. Genuine Canon and compatible versions both fit, so you can pick on price.
