Lexmark builds the yield into the cartridge code: after the number, S is standard, H is high, X is extra-high and U is ultra-high, so an 808SK and an 808XK fit the same printer. Colour models also use a separate imaging unit and a waste bottle. Match the code on your old cartridge, then add a ream of copy paper to the order.

Match the busier the printer to the bigger size. A light machine is fine on standard, while a high-output one saves money over time on an X or U cartridge that prints far more pages before a change.
On colour models the imaging unit is a separate part from the toner that carries the image to the page and lasts across several toners. Faded or marked prints soon after a fresh toner usually point to a worn imaging unit.
It collects leftover toner from printing on colour machines. The printer will call for a new one in time, separately from the toners, and it just needs swapping when full.
Some Lexmark cartridges ship under a return-program agreement, sold at a lower price on the understanding the empty is returned for recycling. Check the listing if that matters for your situation.

The yield is in the code: S, H, X, U

On colour models there are extra parts beyond toner, a separate imaging unit that carries the image and lasts across several toners, and a waste toner bottle that needs swapping when full. A mono printer takes a single black; a colour one takes four. Note that some Lexmark cartridges ship under a return-program agreement for recycling.
