Bar Leaners

A bar leaner is a standing-height table, around 1050mm tall, that people gather around on their feet or perch at on a bar stool. They suit stand-up meetings that stay short, breakout and lunch areas, reception spaces and event setups where you want somewhere to rest a coffee and a laptop without committing a room to seating.

Every leaner here is made by Knight and comes in three models: the rectangular Cubit and Anvil for groups along a bench, and the round or square Polo for smaller huddles. Frames are black or white, and worktops come in Atlantic Oak, Nordic Maple, white or black.

Standing height, around 1050mm. That is tall enough to lean on or rest a laptop and coffee while you are on your feet, and it pairs with bar stools rather than standard office chairs.

Both are rectangular leaners in the same sizes and finishes. The Cubit is offered with a castor option so it can roll and be locked in place, while the Anvil has fixed feet. If the table never moves, either works; if it does, choose the Cubit on castors.

A 1600 x 800mm rectangular leaner suits about four standing, and a 2400 x 900mm takes six to eight. The round and square Polo models are sized for two to four people gathered close.

Rectangular Cubit and Anvil models suit groups lined up along a bench and larger rooms. The round or square Polo suits smaller huddles and works well dotted around a cafe or breakout area as separate gathering points.

Rectangular bench or round pedestal

The Cubit and Anvil are long rectangular leaners. People line up along both sides, so a 2400 x 900mm Cubit comfortably takes six to eight standing, while a 1600 x 800mm suits four. The Polo is a single-column pedestal in round or square tops, sized for a tighter huddle of two to four. As a rough rule, use a rectangular model when you want a shared bench down the middle of a room, and a Polo when you want several smaller gathering points scattered through a breakout or cafe area.

Fixed or on castors

The Cubit comes in a castor version, which is the one to pick if the table moves: rooms that flip between training and social use, event spaces, or open-plan areas that get rearranged. The castors lock so the table holds still once it is placed. The Anvil and Polo sit on fixed feet, which is the steadier choice for a leaner that stays put.

Frames and worktop finishes

Frames are powder-coated steel in black or white. Worktops come in four finishes: Atlantic Oak and Nordic Maple for a warmer timber look, plus plain white and black for a sharper office feel. Because the frame and top are specified separately, you can match a white frame with a maple top for a hospitality space, or run black-on-black to disappear into a darker fit-out.

Pairing leaners with stools

A bar leaner works standing, but most people add a few stools so staff can perch during a longer chat. Our bar stools are sized to leaner height, and for breakout zones the soft seating and ottomans ranges round out a relaxed corner. If you are fitting out a full meeting space, the seated-height options sit in our meeting tables collection.

About Knight

Knight is a commercial furniture brand built for office and education use, so these leaners are made for daily knocks rather than occasional home use. The frames and tops are the same components Knight runs across its wider desking range, which means finishes line up if you are matching leaners to existing Knight furniture.
